Soooo… Thanksgiving was Thursday!
I celebrated with my family and… did absolutely nothing. Nevertheless, Thanksgiving is all about being thankful and grateful for things!
What am I grateful for?
Welll….
1. My fam!
Wow. Ok, I know, a little bit cheesy. But I truly am grateful that I have my family. Sometimes, we’re a little crazy, but still. I love them a lot.
2. FOOD!!!
I love food. Too much. I never really realized that food was something to be grateful for- until I realized that some people don’t have food. Food is taken for granted ALL THE TIME!
3. JK Rowling!
I don’t think I could have survived through the pandemic if I hadn’t had the Harry Potter series to reread time and time again. My parents think I’m a nut (I probably am).
4. Wi-Fi
Ok, this is a no-brainer. I am SO grateful that Hedy Lamarr (she’s a REALLY cool chick- Google her) invented Wi-Fi. What would I do without it?
5. My house.
If my parents and I were living in any other house, we’d become maniacs. I never really noticed that the house we lived in was so cool, and it felt more spacious? I don’t really know how to explain it.
6. My Sherpa vest!

Haha, ok, this is a weird one. We recently got this vest from Costco- and it is literally SO FLUFFY. I need it to get through the day (who knew the house was SO COLD!?).
7. Tennis
I really love to play tennis, even though sometimes (sometimes, I say) it gets annoying (hitting the ball into the net is annoying!). But for the most part, I think it’s really fun and I love it!
8. An iPad
I literally couldn’t live life in the pandemic if I didn’t have an iPad- it’s good for accessing different resources, easy to use, almost the only thing I use for education, etc.
9. A face mask
This one is obvious. I used to take it for granted, until I realized that I wear a mask every time I go outside.
10. Avocados
Ok, so, I already said food on here. But I feel the need to emphasize avocados further- to say it plainly, I’m obsessed. They taste amazing, are kind of creamy, and one of my favorite foods. Quarantine has done weird things to me…

My family also have some Thanksgiving traditions!
First of all, we’re big on Thanksgiving food- but not the traditional type! We like to eat salad, prosciutto, pizza, and cranberry pie.
We also normally invite people over to our house to have a big Thanksgiving feast!
We also like to play a family sport together outside (this can sometimes get hard, considering that we only have 3 people in our family)- normally we just play 3-way badminton.
And… that’s it for traditions! We aren’t really to type to do something special during certain holidays- we just celebrate!
COVID-19 has only changed 1/3 of our normal traditions. We can’t invite anyone over to our house for Thanksgiving dinner- that wouldn’t be safe. We still do have a normal Thanksgiving dinner (just smaller). And we can still play family sports.
That’s how our family celebrates Thanksgiving!
How do you celebrate it?
